Volvo Launches XC40 Recharge Electric Crossover To Series Production

- - 0

The Volvo XC40 Recharge crossover became the brand’s first all-electric vehicle to be put on the assembly line.

Volvo will build the XC40 Recharge at the plant in Ghent, Belgium. In Europe, the first owners will receive their cars this month.

The quantity of the XC40 Recharge vehicles scheduled for 2020 has been already sold out. As you can see, the first Volvo EV aroused consumer interest.

The base Volvo XC40, the most compact car in the modern lineup of the Swedish brand, was presented exactly three years ago.

The company believes this SUV represents a new era in the development of its vehicles due to “luxurious looks, practical interior and innovative connectivity services.”

The XC40 is sold well, but it falls short of the bestselling Volvo XC60 in popularity.

A full battery charge allows the XC40 Recharge to travel over 400 km. The power is 480 hp. Volvo promises up to 80% charge in just 40 minutes thanks to its fast charging technology.

By 2025, Volvo Cars intends to cut carbon emissions from each of its vehicles by 40%, and to fully switch to electric and hybrid models.
