Electrified Jeeps, Fiats And Alfa Romeos Will Be Made In Poland

FCA is going to produce electrified vehicles under the Fiat, Jeep and Alfa Romeo brands at the modernised factory in Tychy, Poland.

Today the Tychy facility builds small cars – the Fiat 500 (pictured) and Lancia Ypsilon. It is one of the largest plans of FCA.

The first three completely new models on PSA’s CMP platform, still unnamed, will roll off the assembly line there in 1.5 years (2nd half 2022).

Investment of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV in the project amounts to 755 million zloty ($204 million), and helps Poland to catch up with regional rivals in the automotive sector – the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Annual manufacture at the Tychy will be as many as 400,000 CMP-based small vehicles.

Insiders say the new models will include a baby Jeep that sits under the Renegade, a small Alfa Romeo crossover positioned below the Tonale, and a small crossover from Fiat. The last one is an indirect replacement for phased-out Punto hatchback.

FCA is planning a $38 billion merger with Groupe PSA to create Stellantis – the Dutch-based multinational automotive manufacturing corporation, No.4 automaker in the world.
