JLR’s new CEO Thierry Bolloré confirmed to investors that Jaguar had talks with potential partners to build a new electric architecture.
Shifting toward electric cars, the brand will reinvent its whole lineup in 2025 as part of the company’s Reimagine Plan.
Jaguar intends to develop the new platform not shared with Land Rover, and needs partners to work on it.
There is still a chance that Jaguar could make the architecture internally, of its own, but “it has to be design led”, according to Bolloré.
The company is going to reimagine and modernise the brand, to move it upmarket in order to “target wealthier, younger, urban, creatively minded group.”
This means Jaguar will be a maker of low-volume, exclusive and true luxury electric vehicles.
