The Porsche Taycan got significant updates in September 2020 for the 2021 model year. Now customers whose Taycans were delivered in the 2020 model year can also benefit from new key features. They are available worldwide free of charge.
Porsche improved driving dynamics, added new intelligent charging functions, as well as several Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and Porsche Connect features.
The cars with the adaptive air suspension got a new Smartlift function. It allows rising a ground clearance automatically at certain locations – road humps, garage driveways.
The company also optimised numerous control units and chassis management to improve slip control and acceleration. Furthermore, the carmaker extended the range of Charging Planner functions and made fine-tunings to the navigation system.
With the new Battery-Saving Charging function, charging capacity can be reduced from up to 270 kW to 200 kW. An on-board 22-kW AC charger will be available as a retro-fit option in selected markets from the end of 2021.
The Porsche Taycan cars of the current model year can receive additional updates on an over-the-air basis as well. They are available via Functions on Demand (FoD). Current FoDs include Power Steering Plus, Active Lane Keep Assist, Porsche InnoDrive. Customers choose either a purchase of the respective function or a monthly subscription.
